Do I Need WP Simulator?

Hi Everyone,

I’ve had a few heads-up messages about a new software release called WP Simulator and although I haven’t purchased it myself, I thought I’d write up my views on it.

A lot of the marketers promoting WP Simulator state that “If you own a WordPress site, you simply need to own this new software, period!” is that really true ??? …. err – No!

I would say that if :-

You are a WordPress Developer, WP Plug-In Creator and or WP Theme Creator and your sole computer is a Mac then Possibly, because it might well be a very good investment.

If the above criteria describes you but you own an IBM PC or compatible computer running Windows™ XP or newer, then I would go for InstantWP instead because it basically does the same and it’s Free.

These two tools are excellent for WordPress Developers, WP Plug-In Creators and WP Theme Creators because you can develop away to your heart’s content in the remote environment of your own computer, work out any bugs etc before putting your work online.

However, if you just own a WordPress based site then both of these software programs are not really necessary and also involve a whole lot of messing about, besides all you really need is a good site back-up tool and simply back-up your site prior to updating anything that’s already in there, or adding anything new.

The two back-up tools that I swear by are Duplicator (Free plug-in, just log into your site then goto “Plugins =>Add New” and type that name into the search box and then click on the search button) and Backup Creator (Premium plug-in which costs $7 per year for the basic version and $47 per year for the all-singing-and-dancing “Ultimate” version)

Alternatively, if you’re just a WordPress based website owner and do fancy playing around with a test site to try out new plug-ins and such, you can easily create a new sub-folder in the public_html folder of your hosting account calling it “Test” and then run Duplicator on your main site to take a copy of it and then install it into your test folder and change the public settings, then you can test away as much as you like without affecting your main site(s) all without having to learn a bunch of new stuff.

Although if you feel that you simply have to have WP Simulator then that’s your choice, to grab it now (it is currently running on a special offer dime-sale) then just look in your e-mail in-box and I’m sure you will find messages from at least a dozen marketers promoting it (just choose the one that is offering the best incentive bonus package for purchasing it through their affiliate link, that fits your needs)

Do I Need A Membership Site? Oh Yes!!!

Most all marketers will tell you that these days you need to supply your products via a membership site because it looks more professional, gives your product a higher perceived value and it cuts right down on people handing round your download page link to all and sundry,

There are a ton of membership site scripts and WordPress plug-ins out there to choose from (I know because I’ve tried most of them) they do all have one thing in common though, they are an absolute pig to set-up and get working correctly, with stand alone scripts being about The hardest of all scripts to install,

I know because that was the second script I attempted to install myself (I had a full head of hair back then) … anyway about two days in I thought to myself “Hmm, I may have bitten off a bit more than I can chew here” but I persevered and by lunchtime on day six, I had an all singing and dancing fully working membership site Up And Running … Yaaayyy!!!

Well, things have come a long way with membership site software since back then in 2006, lots of great new features have been added but, that hasn’t made installing them any easier quite the opposite, although like most things there is an exception to the rule :-)

What Could Happen If Someone Gains Entry Into Your WordPress Blog?

I don’t want to scare you but I want you to be aware of the reasons why you should backup your WordPress based blog or website, and even better protect it against someone getting access to that site.

Someone getting into your WordPress site can delete anything that’s in there, can replace it with something else, redirect it and in fact access every single file in that WordPress installation, sometimes other websites on the same server too. That is why it’s really important to keep people out and backup your site just in case something goes wrong.

Something that is very easy to do if someone gets into your WordPress blog is delete it.

There is in fact a plugin called Bulk Delete that can delete all plugins within that blog, kind of a scary thought. But if you keep your blog backed up, then no one can really hurt you, even if you just use something once per month or once per week.

Let’s say in the worst case you back up your site on a Monday, and someone gets into your site and deletes it the following Friday, at least you have only lost the past five days of work. You haven’t lost the past two years, if not more.

What is even scarier is that someone who gets into your WordPress site might replace it with something else. Many terrorists, religious and activist groups have in fact used hackers to gain entrance to weakly protected WordPress sites and replace it with their own images and content.

What also might happen is someone might set up your site to redirect to a new site, or display some ads. And even worse, if your site gets flagged as an attack site, as a problem site other people will not be able to see it.

That is something that might happen, is if you load your WordPress site and it seems to be redirecting to some far off place on the internet, it might have been hacked and you should investigate that.

One of the scariest things about someone getting into your WordPress site is that they will probably be able to get access to all files in your site using the file manager plugin in WordPress. And even if you don’t have this file plugin installed, they can easily install it from the WordPress dashboard. And depending on how your server is configured, they might be able to see every single website and account on that server. Kind of a scary thought.

If someone gets into your WordPress blog, it’s not just about them changing content or redirecting to a new place, they now can see all your files, all your blogs, all your videos, all of your information. And all this is a reason for you to lock down WordPress.

Use a hard to guess password and be very careful about where you log into your blog from. And above all, backup your site, so just in case the worst happens you’re still protected and you can still get your stuff back.

IM-TPA Update Announcement

Hi Everyone,

I have a quick update for you today and it will also explain why I’ve been so quiet as of late because I’ve just finished updating my Internet Marketing Three Pronged Attack training course for 2013

Although the core training of the course is an “Evergreen” online business model, some of the strategies I mentioned did need updating so I took it down for a few weeks last month but having completed everything it’s now available again.

There has been some changes though and now there’s an initial report that lays out my entire IM-TPA concept which most people who’ve been online for awhile will most likely know how to implement, this report is now available free as a direct download on my main site Here

The Real Truth About Internet Marketing

There are many analogies likened to Internet marketing which are also used for “sales” in general and the best one is fishing as many sales systems refer to the initial components of it as the “bait” and the “hook” (for Internet marketing that’s the Landing Page and Squeeze Page Offer).

The reason fishing is such a good analogy is because Internet marketing is very similar when it comes to results, because although someone may have done extremely well with a particular system and or procedure, there is never any guarantee whatsoever that the next person who follows those exactly same steps using the exact same system will get the exact same results.

For instance imagine for a moment you see two fishermen sitting next to each other on the bank of a stream both using the exact same equipment and bait and the first one has a keep net full of fish and the other hasn’t has a single nibble.

Another couple of hours pass and neither of the fishermen have caught any more fish, it’s now mid day and the one with the empty keep net says “this school just isn’t biting, I’ve has enough and I’m going home” his friend says “I think I’ll stay for another hour or two, see you next time”

An hour passes and a much bigger school of fish emerge from upstream and the lone fisherman is now landing fish faster than he can keep up and thinks “wish I’d asked my friend if he could leave me his keep net”  

The moral of the story is fishing takes patience as the fish aren’t just going to jump into the keep net by themselves, likewise Internet marketing takes the same amount of patience and perseverance, once you have the right system in place then much like the fishing equipment and bait, you have the tools to land fish or rather prospective customers, you just need to put the line in the stream and be patient enough to wait for the fish to bite.

Although instead, the successful fisherman might have said “Well, I’ve caught my dinner and that’s enough for me so I’m heading home” and if his friend had been the one to stay then most likely he would have caught even more fish than his friend did, of course that’s the best case scenario as the bigger school of fish might have decided to take the other fork in the stream and landed up in some other fisherman’s keep net instead. (that’s fishing for you)

Many novice Internet marketers tend to put too much store in the “Proof of Earnings” screenshots and (if they are actually genuine) the only way you can really view those would be similar to a fisherman holding up a picture of a big fish that he once caught, thing is that fish is now at home in his freezer so is no longer in the stream to catch, likewise with an Internet marketer those prospects are in his (or her) sales system.   

So for proof of earnings screenshots, just like that fisherman holding up the picture, all that you can really say about them is “Oh, well done you” as for earnings “statements”, likewise those tend to be just like a fisherman saying  “I caught one, … ooh this big last week”

Internet marketing is just like fishing in that although you might be using the exact same system (fishing equipment and bait) there are so many variables involved that nobody can possibly guarantee you will have the exact same results, because you might just catch tiddlers or maybe land an even bigger one, or possibly not catch anything at all.  

But as long as you have the fishing equipment and bait (system set-up) at least you’ll have the kit to be able to cast your line into the stream.

Biz Opps vs A Real Business

The main problem with the perception of Internet marketing is All of the “Biz Opps” out there Appear to make promises that by purchasing the biz opp in question it will lead to instant wealth, guaranteed !!!

After all, the program owner has given indisputable proof with a screen shot of their income that he or she has made $XXX with it, it’s so simple to implement that a 3 month old baby can use the information in the eBook, or the software or the “System of the program” to become instantly wealthy,

Then comes the flood of testimonials from previous purchasers on how wonderful the biz opp is and how it has (in the nick of time) saved them from financial disaster on the very same day that they implemented it.

With all of this “Hype” people are being brainwashed that you can simply buy the biz opp in question and it alone will instantly make you vast fortunes from the moment of implementation and where you only need to put in minimal effort (and some even elude to no work whatsoever)

But if that were the case then surely we all would be multimillionaires by the end of the week just by purchasing one of these programs and pressing a button and find ourselves sunning ourselves and sipping cocktails by the pool, but the reality is Internet marketing is just like any other business where you have to start by building it from the ground up.

And yes that does mean you do need to put in a substantial amount of Work to make it happen, but it also means you will be working for you rather than someone else so you get to keep all of the profits generated rather than just getting the scraps from an employer.

Yes, that means you have to treat Internet marketing as a business just like a bricks and mortar one which means the moment you turn your computer on, you need to think that you are “at work” as that’s the difference between success and failure.

That starts by building a real online business for yourself, but when it comes to Biz Opps these are not an either – or, but go hand in hand, however building your own business First is the only way any Biz Opp can actually work for you.

What I mean is you start by building your own web presence (Website) then your build your list, build your online credibility, build your list, build your online business branding, build your list and once you have all of that done, you can Plug-In to it whatever biz opp you think will benefit you And your list subscribers

Oh, … and did I mention Build Your List ???

I mentioned building your list so much because that is the key to everything – having a list of contacts to promote your offers to, and the bigger that list gets, the more income you can make.

Yes, you see all of these Biz Opps where they claim they made XXX thousands literally overnight, you then see a few dozen testimonials from elated customers with similar results and find it so compelling you jump on it.

But if you’re just getting started then you’ll find you don’t break even let alone see any profits and move onto the next Biz Opp in hope that one of them will do the magic trick for you, but the only difference between you and that Biz Opp owner and his elated customers is, they all each have an e-mail list of hundreds of thousands – and you don’t. (yet)

So all you need to do is get Your Own website online, sort out and autoresponder, slap up a page with your opt-in form code on it, create (or obtain) a digitally downloadable as a sign-up incentive (Bribe) that you yourself would gladly pay at least $100 for – Ouch !!! (keep telling yourself the money is in the list, the money is in the list, I’ll get that investment all back and a lot more eventually, the money is in the list, the money is in the list)

And then tell as many people as you possibly can about this wonderful and Highly Valuable gift you will simply Give them for visiting your website today !!! (on the opt-in page say what it’ll do “For Them” before you tell them what it is or does, followed by “just enter your name and e-mail address so I’ll know were to send it”)

Once you have that in place you can then think about adding in Biz Opps, but totally ignore all of those income claims and look instead for the Value it will bring for your subscriber directly (or indirectly if you purchased it) if that’s only the money claim then just say, no thanks – Next!!!

Covert VideoPress: A Case Study

Today I was kind of thinking that when I do a review post on something I’ve acquired that I think is really good, I just say “This is really good because it does this and that, so I think you should go grab it if it appeals” then I just leave it at that and I don’t tend to give an actual example of how I’m using it myself, so this time I thought “why not share that info on my latest acquisition as I’m sure it’ll interest some of my readers” so here it is :-)

But before I start, I’ll mention a little about the creators of this theme who are IM Wealth Builders, I’m not an affiliate for any of their products but I am an avid fan having purchase several of their recent releases.

Since purchasing their Cover Action Bar WordPress plug-in (and every release since) I found I really like how these people think, because when looking for ideas for creating new products they look around the web at all of the hugely popular and successful sites,

They then look at how their sites are laid out and if the site is conditioning their visitors to act in a certain way which has resulted in them becoming so successful, then they take that info and create a product that emulates that feature to profit from that site’s visitor conditioning.

And their Covert VideoPress theme came into existence from looking at the third biggest search engine on the web, YouTube. (this isn’t a YouTube clone theme but it does employ many of the social media sharing attributes they use and that their visitors have been conditioned to click on) anyway, I covered what the theme does in the last post so here I’ll mention a bit about how best to use it,

YouTube is well renowned for having a lot of trivial videos on their site, but any doctor will tell you that laughter is the best form of complimentary medicine going so not really a bad thing (plus it is also extremely addictive which might explain how YouTube became so popular) and with that said, there is also a lot of extremely good tutorial videos on YouTube covering a huge number of different topics so it’s not just about cats getting stuck in a jar or dogs in silly outfits with a face like thunder.

So Covert VideoPress is a superb theme for creating niche specific WordPress video blogs because you can include the embed codes on your site for those niche specific videos from YouTube plus a few other video sites thereby giving your visitors exactly what they’re looking for without having to trawl through YouTube etc to find the best stuff. (and that’s exactly what I’ve done)

I myself am a keen amateur photographer so about 18 months ago I created a photography tutorial website, at the time I had just purchased the Easy Theme and decided to use it for the site, (it was okay but I will admit I haven’t since used it on any of my other sites) this site included pages up-front with text information accompanied with an audio track of the same to help my visitors who would prefer to listen rather than read.

The blog posts section contained text only content with some having a few pictures added in for good measure but I have to admit the site was a little bland, so when Covert VideoPress appeared I instantly knew this would make for a superb booster for my site, but it is solely a video site theme so I knew I wouldn’t be able to use it directly on the site as all of the current posts were text only, so I simply installed a fresh WordPress script in a sub-folder on the domain and once I had added some content I created a link to it on the main site.

This all worked superbly but the drawback was they look like two different sites and I was sure that my site visitors would think that I had just sent them off to the site of someone else to view the videos so my aim was to try to ensure that my branding was on both, so with a few tweaks of the video theme css file I was able to include the header from my main site.

Now things were starting to look pretty good but then I thought “hold on, the new video site appears so much more appealing than the original one, hum … got to do something about that” so I replaced the Easy Theme with the Weaver II theme (free download from WordPress.org theme depository)

This is the theme I’ve included in The Plug in Marketing Super Easy Website Script because it’s so flexible, super easy to set-up and with the 29 site skins (templates) you can make it look like pretty much however you want, and so was able to make my original main site look very similar to my new tube-site addition.

Now both have very similar colour (color) schemes and posts layout (I used the “Magazine” skin on the Weaver II theme and just duplicated the headings colours between the two) placing a link in the right hand menu of the main site (second one down) leading to the tube-site which opens in a new tab (window) and to see the results you can go take a look at it here :-

Photography: Learning The Art of Taking Exquisite Photographs

This in my opinion has really brought my photography tutorial site to life (hopefully my site visitors agree) and I am immensely pleased with the outcome, I haven’t put any ads on the site apart from the first link that sends visitors off to Amazon to peruse their photographic equipment wares, but then the YouTube site is plastered with ads everywhere so there’s definitely scope for adding in a whole lot more.

And as this site is about photography (and pictures) once I’ve got my tube-site addition up to speed, I think my next task is to add another sub-folder to the site with another WordPress installation using the Covert PinPress theme :-)

Covert Videopress WordPress Theme Review

Today I have a quick heads-up on a tube-site WordPress theme that the people over at IM Wealth Builders have released recently, although if you are a previous customer of theirs then you might as well stop reading as I’m sure you’ve already bought it by now.

So far I’ve purchased every theme and plug-in IM Wealth Builders have put out so for a long time customer, most times it is difficult to write up reviews on their products because once you’ve purchased one then exceptional is something that is always expected.

I will say though that this theme has surpassed their usual excellence and outright genius, their products are always easy to set-up and are built from the perspective of how site visitors react when on popular websites and how marketers can harness this behaviour to their best advantage.

So this theme called Covert Videopress basically turns a standard WordPress script installation into what marketers call a “Tube” site, which basically allows you to create a site dedicated to videos, it also allows you to embed videos from a few of the popular video sites including Vimeo, Daily Motion and YouTube which means you can even create a tube-site without ever having to create a single video yourself.

Talking of YouTube, the real genius behind this theme is it has a similar layout as and uses the same style of social media “Sharing” buttons that they do thereby allowing your visitors to share your site links to their FaceBook, Twitter and or Google+ social media accounts for all of their friends and followers to see which usually means floods of traffic.

This one is currently being sold in the Warrior forum special offers section on a dime-sale and at the time of writing is still under twelve bucks so is an absolute bargain, they do have an upsell of a matched “Auto-blogging” plug-in that will save you a ton of time as well,

Usually I don’t like auto-blogging plug-ins because you never know what it’ll bring in and post directly to your site without your interaction so usually you never know what you’ll be putting your good name to, but I grabbed it because this one allows you to pull them in as “Drafts” so you can check them out first and reject or make alterations to them before they are published on your site.
